Beck, QOTSA Take 'Detour' For L.A. Festival

Beck, Queens Of The Stone Age, Peeping Tom and Basement Jaxx lead the lineup for the first L.A. Weekly magazine-sponsored Detour Music Festival, Billboard.com can reveal. The daylong event will be held Oct. 7 at Main and 1st Streets in Los Angeles; tickets go on sale Saturday (Aug. 26).

Other acts on the bill for Detour include Redd Kross, Nortec Collective, Blackalicious, Of Montreal, the Like, the Elected, OH NO! OH MY!, the Blood Arm, Everybody Else, the Howling Bells and Wired All Wrong. DJ sets are on tap from VHS Or Beta, Steve Aoki and artist Shepard Fairey.

Detour is booked by Goldenvoice, best known for the annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. A portion of proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization Tree People, which works to find ustainable solutions to urban ecosystem problems.

In related news, Beck will curate Wired Magazine's Next Music series, to be held Sept. 26 at New York's Irving Plaza with Jamie Lidell and Of Montreal. Wilco's Jeff Tweedy curated last year's event in Chicago with Joanna Newsom and the Handsome Family.
