Sir, Indeed You Make Us Proud

Comments

Out of 3,245 voters, the overwhelming majority of our readers are card-carrying members of AmIdol winner Taylor Hicks' Soul Patrol. Despite the provocative, visually stimulating little masterpiece that we call "that Ford commercial" and "American Idol," 10% of you didn't know what the heck we were talking about (we posed the question: America, Do I Make You Proud?).

Like many Billboard staffers, 4% like Hicks for one reason or another, the Alabamian accent being one. The blackened-hearted, ice-cold readers who despise the music world's silver-haired fox made up 17%.

Many readers wrote in with option and comments of their own. Stacie F. waved the flag of the newly-coined "Hicks Chicks" while Tara R. promised "My next child will be named Taylor." O-tay. Taylor makes Claire proud, but noted that "Do I Make You Proud?", well, simply "sucks." Dylan S. is hardly proud of Hicks by explaining, "You won by charisma, which does not make you a good vocalist." And Air Force Wife is proud that Hicks is dedicating the song to "our troops."
