Shakira's 'Hips' Still Shaking At No. 1

Comments

After setting a single-week record for digital download sales last week, Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" featuring Wyclef Jean maintains its lead on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second frame. The song is also No. 1 on the Pop 100 for a second week and Hot Latin Songs for a fifth.

Steadily climbing, Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous" moves 3-2 on the Hot 100 and is this week's greatest airplay gainer. After jumping 20 slots last week, Yung Joc's "It's Goin' Down" is this week's greatest digital sales gainer, sliding up 4-3, and also rules Hot Rap Tracks and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Chamillionaire's "Ridin'" featuring Krayzie Bone falls 2-4 on the Hot 100 while Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" keeps the No. 5 spot warm for a second week and pole position on Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks for an eighth.

Fort Minor holds down the fort at No. 6 on the Hot 100 with "Where'd You Go" featuring Holly Brook. Rihanna's "Unfaithful" earns a new peak position, ascending 9-7 in its seventh week. Cassie's "Me & U" sits at No. 8 while Lil Jon's "Snap Yo Fingers" featuring E-40 and Sean Paul of the YoungBloodz re-enters the top 10, rising 11-9.

"Dani California" by Red Hot Chili Peppers rounds out the top tier with a 12-10 increase. It continues to lead both the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock tallies for an ninth and seventh week, respectively.

Christina Aguilera nails a career-best bow with "Ain't No Other Man," which enters at No. 19. Previously, her best entry was the No. 50 spot with "I Turn to You" in April 2000. The track is the first single from her upcoming double album, "Back to Basics," due Aug. 15 via RCA.

Other debuts this week include DJ Khaled's "Holla At Me" featuring Lil Wayne, Paul Wall, Fat Joe, Rick Ross and Pitbull (No. 59), Natasha Bedingfield's "Single" (No. 72), OutKast's "Mighty O" (No. 77), Rakim & Ken-Y's "Down" (No. 90), Ice Cube's "Why We Thugs" (No. 92), Jeannie Ortega' "Crowded" featuring Papoose (No. 96), Ne-Yo's "Sexy Love" (No. 98), Don Omar's "Angelito" (No. 99) and James Blunt's "High" (No. 100).

Kenny Chesney's "Summertime" heats up the top spot on Hot Country Songs for a second week. Inching up in contention are Phil Vassar's "Last Day of My Life" (4-2) and Brad Paisley's "The World" (6-3).
