Rapper Ghostface Killah and reclusive underground rock hero Roky Erickson have joined the bill for the Intonation Music Festival, which will be held June 24-25 in Chicago's Union Park. For Erickson, this will be his first performance outside of his Austin, Texas, homebase in three decades.
As previously reported, the first day of the festival will feature the Streets, Lady Sovereign, the Stills, Jose Gonzalez and Boredoms, while the second day will boast performances from Bloc Party, Dead Prez, Robert Pollard, Jon Brion, Blue Cheer, Lupe Fiasco and Rhymefest.
The event is curated by Vice Records. Tickets are on-sale via IntonationMusicFest.com.
As expected, Pearl Jam has confirmed an Australian tour with support from Kings Of Leon. At deadline the trek will visit Sydney (Nov. 7), Brisbane (Nov. 10), Melbourne (Nov. 13) and Adelaide (Nov. 21). Pearl Jam has not visited Australia since the spring of 2003.
Kings Of Leon is in the midst of recording its third RCA studio album, which is expected by the end of the year. The set will be the follow-up to 2005's "Aha Shake Heartbreak," which debuted at No. 55 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 168,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Eric Clapton's 1970 self-titled solo debut will be reissued in expanded form May 23 via Polydor/UME. In addition to the original album, which is best-known for hits like "After Midnight" and "Let It Rain," the set features a second disc with an alternate mix of the effort by Clapton collaborator Delaney Bramlett that has never been officially released.
Among the bonus tracks sprinkled into the new "Eric Clapton" are unreleased takes of "Don't Know Why" and "I've Told You for the Last Time," an early version of "Let It Rain" dubbed "She Rides" and the non-album singles "Comin' Home" and "Groupie (Superstar)," credited to Delaney & Bonnie and Friends featuring Eric Clapton.
Clapton will spend the summer on tour in Europe and next plays Manchester, England, tonight (May 9).
