VH1 has ordered a pilot for an unscripted series featuring top Houston rapper Paul Wall. Wall's major-label debut album, 2005's "The People's Champ," opened last year at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. The show will be produced by Pink Sneakers, the production company behind VH1's "Hogan Knows Best," one of the network's top-rated shows.

Wall is currently in the studio working on a new album and is five tracks deep on the project, according to his Web site. The as-yet-untitled set should be out before the end of the year via Swishahouse/Atlantic. He and his wife recently welcomed their first child.

VH1 has also ordered eight half-hour episodes of a Pink Sneakers show called "My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding," which will premiere in the fall. The show will focus on couples who are spending upwards of $500,000 on their weddings.

"We're basically following couples planning big, over-the-top weddings who are spending insane amounts of money on flowers or bringing in big-name bands to their wedding," says Pink Sneakers head Kimberly Belcher Cowin. "[It'll show] the drama that goes into planning a wedding along with the concept of big money -- the people in that top tier who are planning these crazy bashes and spending jaw-dropping amounts of money."
