AFI Gets Away With 'Murder' On New Album

Comments

AFI has wrapped its seventh album, "Decemberunderground," which will be released June 6 via Interscope. First single "Miss Murder" debuts this week at No. 22 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart and was made available at digital download retailers this morning (April 25). A video shot by director Marc Webb is also in the works.

"Decemberunderground" also features such tracks as the breakneck, scream-addled "Kill Caustic," the riff-heavy "Summer Shudder" and the driving "Love Like Winter," which is dotted with synths and electronic effects. The set is the follow-up to 2003's "Sing the Sorrow," which has sold 1.1 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

After a long break from touring, AFI will return to the road Saturday (April 29) for a performance in Tucson, Ariz. Beginning June 27 in Raleigh, N.C., the band will join up with the Vans Warped Tour for a majority of the summer. Also on tap is an Aug. 12-13 trip to Japan for the annual Summer Sonic Festival.

A one-off May 25 show in London is also on the books.
