"We called the album 'Amarantine' to mean everlasting," says Enya, adding that she has spent two years working on the album. "Poets use the word to describe an everlasting flower and I loved the image of that."

The album's single, "Only Time," became a radio staple in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, peaking at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track also reached No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary and Adult Top 40 charts.
