Allman Brothers Band

After postponing the 2008 edition of its annual run of shows at New York's Beacon Theatre due to health concerns for frontman Gregg Allman, the Allman Brothers Band will return to the venue this year.

The group will play 10 shows there beginning March 9 and also including March 10, March 12-14, March 16-17 and March 19-21. Ticket information will be unveiled in a couple of weeks.

Due to Allman's recovery from hepatitis C, he and his bandmates were unable to do the Beacon run last year. But he told Billboard in November that the group has a number of surprises in store for the upcoming shows, which he says will be "just kick-ass."

Billboard honored the Allmans in November with the Legend of Live Award at the Billboard Touring Conference and Awards. The award is given to a touring professional who has had a significant and lasting impact on the concert industry.
