Sony PlayStation3

Sony's PlayStation3 features not only the most advanced graphics display and processing power of all the next-generation game consoles, it also has Internet connectivity, a 20 GB or 60 GB hard drive, and doubles as a Blu-ray DVD player. But it doesn't come cheap, at $500 for the basic version and $600 for the more advanced unit. Additionally, available games for the system could run as high as $60 a pop, including launch titles Resistance: Fall of Man, Genji: Heavenly Sword and NBA 07.

But this is much more than a game console. In addition to the Blu-ray DVD drive, it will also provide access to the PlayStation Store where users can download all manner of digital entertainment content. Initially, this is expected to be limited to game-related downloads, but eventually include full-track music downloads, TV shows and feature films.
