A year ago, Mexican accordionist, singer and songwriter Remmy Valenzuela was little known in the U.S. save for the fact that at 22, he’d foiled death twice. Back in 2013, Valenzuela was wounded after being caught in a crossfire between government agents and an organized crime syndicate following a private performance in Nayarit, Mexico.
Kevin Ortiz has a musical gift that runs in the family. The 18-year-old “La Indicada” singer is the brother of norteño star Gerardo Ortiz. It was Gerardo who wrote Kevin’s first hit single, “Un Minuto,” in 2013, launching him into the spotlight.
Leslie Grace, the urban bachata artist who scored two No. 1s on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart before she was 19 years old, has signed a recording deal with Sony Music U.S. Latin. Under the deal, inked April 10 at Sony’s offices in Miami, Grace will release an EP of new material probably in June. A first single will go to radio in May.
