Spanish Soprano De Los Angeles Dies

Legendary Spanish opera singer Victoria de los Angeles died Saturday (Jan. 15) in Barcelona aged 81. The soprano had been admitted to hospital on New Year's Eve with a bronchial infection. Renowned as one of the finest 20th century sopranos, de los Angeles retired from the stage in 1979 but gave occasional recitals into her 70s.
