Another year, another new twist in the saga of Neil Young's long-in-the-works "Archives" series. The multi-disc first volume of the project, which has shifted release dates countless times in the past two years, was most recently scheduled to arrive Feb. 19.
U.S. opera fans will soon have something new to sing about. Beginning in December, Emerging Pictures will distribute seven operas filmed live at Italy's opera houses to theaters, museums and cultural centers around the country.
Alanis Morissette has joined the cast of sci-fi novelist Philip K. Dick's semiautobiographical feature adaptation "Radio Free Albemuth." The Canadian pop singer plays Sylvia, a woman who shows up in the vision of a record label executive named Nick (Jonathan Scarfe) as a glamorous singer.
Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is in final negotiations to join Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in "Righteous Kill," a crime thriller that starts shooting in September. The acting veterans play detectives tracking a serial killer, while Jackson would play a drug dealer who helps them with their investigation. Jon Avnet will direct the $60 million project.
