This weekend, Jane's Addiction will be the focal point of the Sunset Strip Music Festival, a two-day long event celebrating the legendary strip's long musical heritage. On Friday night, Jane's will be honored at a private event at the House of Blues, then Saturday the band will headline the first day of the festival by performing Nothing's Shocking in its entirety.
There are varying degrees of truthfulness in interviews. There's honest, then there's revealing, then "wow," and finally, "Holy sh--, did they just say that?" NOFX frontman Fat Mike has so many "Holy sh--" moments you actually find yourself replaying the audio to make sure you're not crazy. Then again, that is part of what makes such a strong bond between the band and their fans.
One of the best things about this past weekend’s Riot Fest in Chicago was the generational cross-section printed on the bill, and the warm reception that the veteran artists were treated to, many of whom were the founders of their respective genres... including Paul Weller.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Chicago’s Riot Fest threw a blowout bash at Humboldt Park, bringing in over 100 bands from all generations of punk and rock, from Patti Smith and Cheap Trick to Social Distortion to La Dispute.
