Biography

Post-hardcore act Yesterdays Rising formed in the small California town of Murrieta, just south of San Bernardino, in 2002. Heavily influenced by the likes of Rage Against the Machine and the Deftones, singer Brandon Bolmer, guitarists Jon Bloom and Richie Ochoa, bassist Justin Panno, and drummer Jamie Ethridge entered the screamo scene with the 2003 self-released EP Ship of Relations. Positive reviews and a stint on the Vans Warped Tour (they were supposedly the youngest band ever to join that traveling emo and punk festival) led to the five signing with the noted California indie Fearless Records, home of At the Drive-In and Plain White T's. Fearless released a follow-up EP, When We Speak We Breathe, in 2004. Yesterdays Rising released their first full-length album, Lightworker, in July 2005. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide
