Biography

Witchdoctor is an ambitious hip-hop artist from Georgia who blends Afrocentric spirituality, soul, rap, and urban R&B. His Organized Noise-produced debut album, A S.W.A.T. Healin' Ritual, was released by Interscope in 1997. As part of the Dungeon Family, the MC appeared on many of his fellow members' albums, including ones by OutKast and Goodie Mob, all while issuing records under his own label, Dezonly1. In 2007 Witchdoctor signed with Williams Street Records, part of the [adult swim] franchise, and released the full-length The Diary of an American Witchdoctor in October of the same year. The album, which contains tracks off his previous efforts as well as new songs, was accompanied by a short college tour with Wu-Tang favorite Ghostface Killah. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine & Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
