The spaced-out psychedelic rock ensemble When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth were born from the (still active) ranks of such bands as Tuxedo Killers, Dakota Building, Awesome Cool Dudes, and Oh, Beast! The lineup features double drummers (Daniel Doyle, Brandon Crowe), double guitarists (Marc Voorhees, Nate Cross), double vocalists (Jesse Hodges and George Dishner), and a single bassist (Cory Plump). The group formed in 2005 and quickly made a name for itself at such high-impact shows as South by Southwest. The group released its first album, Snacks, in 2006, on Emperor Jones. When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth then appeared on a compilation tape release on vocalist Jesse Hodges' Furniture Records, covering a well-known Oneida song. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
