Biography

RSS
An upbeat and uptempo groove-oriented alternative rock outfit based in the United Kingdom, Two Spot Gobi formed in 2005. Known for adding cello and trumpet to their eclectic mix of blues and jam rock, Two Spot Gobi quickly made a name for themselves, supporting such big stylistic names as Jason Mraz and Newton Faulkner. The band -- James Robinson (vocals, guitar, also a former solo artist who released the 2004 EP Scrap Paper), Rob Lewis (cello), Dino Randhawa (guitar), Ben Matthews (drums), Ben Rosario (piano), and Matt Ellis (trumpet) -- really coalesced during the recordings for their first EP together (for the most part, the recordings involved about half of the eventual band) entitled Melodious Star. In 2008, the band was set to release its debut full-length, as well as an expected single release. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
