The word "Trikuti" is defined in Eastern philosophy as the spiritual realm from which all knowledge and music in the physical world originate. At least, that's what it says in the publicity materials for the jam-band rock quintet Trikuti from Lido Beach, NY; other definitions are even more esoteric. The band consists of lead singer/lead guitarist Scott Seader, guitarist/bassist David Seader, bassist/guitarist/singer Ryan Wasser, drummer David Weintraub, and percussionist/singer Edward Malcolm Smith III. The group built up a following on the Eastern (U.S., that is) Seaboard and signed to Lucky 13 Records for the release of its debut album, Trikuti, on SoFlo/Lucky 13 on January 15, 2008. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
