A percussive and distorted product of the tech-trance arena, Dave Webster and Brenden Webster's Transa made music largely unrecognized by the public. Late '90s anthemic releases, "Prophase," "Behind the Sun," and "Astro Dawn," won approval from Paul Oakenfold and Sasha & Digweed, but the band found that most of their mainstream recognition was being achieved through exploitative remixes for Art of Trance, Blank & Jones, Vengaboys, and Alice Deejay. All of which led to an early mid-life crisis in 2001. Singles like "Rotation" and the Exposure, Pt. 3 mix emphasized the psychological battles of progressive house instead of whistle-blowing overindulgence while the band spurned remix duties whenever they got the chance. Transa's work on their debut album also began the same year, and those that knew the duo's name were unsure if past history suggested a band headed towards chart positivity or mass culture's backroom. ~ Dean Carlson, All Music Guide
