Named after the alias of the comic-book character Iron Man, New York City's Tonystark is an emocore quintet, consisting of singer John, guitarists Rob and Pete, bassist Ray, and drummer Wayne. The band originally began as a side project for several members of the hardcore punk outfit Awkward Thought, before it became a full-time proposition. A demo caught the ear of Resurrection A.D. Records owner A.J. Falvo, who signed the band -- resulting in the 1998 EP High Tech Low Life. The band supported the release by playing shows in the New York City area with Candiria, Fahrenheit 451, and Shutdown, among others. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
