Bringing a snotty innocence of pop-punk and 50's doo wop to their home town of Omaha, Nebraska, The Young Hasselhoffs paid tribute to their favorite actor from Baywatch as they first got together in 1996. Waking up their Midwestern town with their Ramones influenced angst, Matt Hasselhoff (vocals/ guitar), Jason Baywatch (bass) and Young Phil (drums) were immediately signed to Melted Records after sending them their first demo. Their full-length debut Win a Date With the Young Hasselhoffs resulted in the summer of 1998, even before the trio were legally old enough to drink. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
