Biography

Fittingly enough, Raleigh's the Sibling Project consists of two siblings: Danny Ranck handles guitar, his older sister Lindsey plays keyboards, and they both sweetly sing together. The duo began performing under the name as teenagers in the early 2000s, self-releasing the largely acoustic Sibling EP in 2002. The album Crowned with Many Winters appeared in July 2004, which saw electronic beats sporadically entering the mix, and various shows (mostly around North Carolina) were played in support. All of this activity led into the March 2005 independent release of Ado Ido, later picked up for distribution by Maryland-based Exotic Fever Records. Their apple-cheeked indie pop was by now comparable to acts like Mates of States, Matt & Kim, and (due to the occasional laptop blips) the Postal Service. In August 2006, the Sibling Project split a ten-song album with the juxtaposing sound of their friends Wolverines, an abrasive hardcore duo. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide
