The Rapport

Artist Info

Formed

2007 Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland

Members

Ben McKenna, Andy McGlynn, Sean Woods, Facundo Rodriguez, Robert Woods

Biography

Irish quintet the Rapport sport a rougher edge than the more manicured likes of the Arctic Monkeys or Kaiser Chiefs, but at heart, their music is a similar updating of '90s Brit-pop mixed with dashes of new wave flash and garage rock aggression. The Rapport are based in Dundalk, the seat of county Louth near the border with Northern Ireland, a city better known as the hometown of beloved folk-pop family act the Corrs. Singer and lyricist Sean Woods, guitarists Andy McGlynn and Robert Woods, bassist Ben McKenna, and drummer Facundo Rodriguez formed the band in late 2007. Their debut EP, Random Abuse, was released in the summer of 2008, and featured the lead-off track "Turn Off the Noise." ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide
