Seattle punk rockers the Gloryholes mix the snotty drive of old-school punk rock with the hooks and attitude of garage rock, and the result is a high-energy onslaught suitable for teenage vandalism or dancing the pogo. The Gloryholes were formed in 2000 by singer Doug White, former frontman of the Secret Six, with guitarists Shelly Corwin and Chris Kenan, and bassist Melanine Belanger. The group's first drummer, Ward Reeder, played on the Gloryholes' debut single, released in 2001, and first album, 2002's Knock You Up, which was produced by punk legend Tim Kerr and engineered by Seattle standby Jack Endino. By the time the band released their second long-player, The Gloryholes Want a Divorce, Reeder had departed and Eric Fenner stepped in to take his place. However, Fenner was also playing with another band at the same time, and before Want a Divorce could be released, Fenner left to devote more time to his other project, the Ones. The drum throne was then taken over by Johnny Machine. ~ Mark Deming, All Music Guide
