Winston-Salem, NC's Evoka Project comprises Matt Taylor, Bryan Ledbetter, Brian Knott, Pete Small, and Zack Plemmons. Taylor formed the group with Ledbetter in May 2000; Ledbetter, who also runs the label Hero Recording Co., got them some studio time and the band recorded their debut EP, Stranger Than Fiction. The EP, which was mixed by Mitch Easter and released in January of 2001, showcased the group's brand of moody, melodic rock. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
