Reviews

Formed in 1998 by eight-year-old twin brothers Ben and Matt Peterson, the punk-pop trio the Dares became a teen sensation in 2009 thanks to an Internet-based groundswell of fan support plus a little online gaming. After adding Martin Lascano as their third member, the Dares played numerous gigs and showcases around their hometown of Burlington, VT, becoming a regional sensation in the process. Even if they weren't old enough to obtain driver's licenses, the Dares still knew the West Coast would be the best place for them to make it, so in 2003 they packed up and headed to Whittier, CA. A year later they began gigging again, beginning in Long Beach and eventually hitting all the Hollywood hot spots, up to and including the Whisky and the Viper Room. In 2009 their song "It's Your World" received wide exposure when it became the theme song for Free Realms, a hit online role-playing game from Sony. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
