With spacy guitars, lush arrangements, and a bittersweet feel, the Color Turning has more in common with British artists Coldplay, Elbow, and Interpol than with their pop-punk contemporaries in Los Angeles. Bassist Jason Abraham, guitarists/pianists David Del Fonzo and Sean Rodriguez, vocalist/guitarist Steve Scavo, and drummer Garet Powell started the band around the turn of the millennium, but it wasn't until they signed to Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland's label SoftDrive records in 2009 that things started picking up for the five-piece. West coast tour dates with Weiland and STP followed, and their first full-length Good Hands Bad Blood was released on June 16, 2009 -- accompanied by a band documentary produced by director Robert Marshall. ~ Jason Lymangrover, All Music Guide
