Hollywood's Texas Terri and the Stiff Ones play sleazy, street-strutting rock & roll that will violate your ears and mind. Frontwoman and ex-stripper Terri Laird recalls Iggy Pop, Lux Interior of the Cramps, and Wendy O. Williams rolled into one with her half scream, half growl vocals and infamous stage antics -- the flame haired singer frequently performs wearing only electrical tape. Terri Laird moved out to Los Angeles from Texas in 1985 and started her trash rock band the Killer Crows. After the group broke up, Texas Terri joined forces with Don "Demon Boy" Cilurso to create what would become Texas Terri and the Stiff Ones. The band released their debut, Eat Shit, in 1998. In 1999, they were named "Most Psychotic Band" and "Best Hollywood Band" by Rock City News, and Laird was dubbed "Best Female Singer" by Flipside Magazine. In 2000, the Los Angeles Weekly gave the group their "Best Punk Band" award. Texas Terri and the Stiff Ones' debut album was re-released in 2001 as Eat Shit + 1. ~ Charles Spano, All Music Guide
