Although Terry Radigan lives in Nashville and has written songs for country-pop artists like Patty Loveless and Tricia Yearwood, the singer/songwriter isn't a country artist per se and has more of a pop/rock orientation. Radigan's own recordings have a moody, intriguing quality; hardly a belter, she tends to favor a subtle and restrained style of singing. Radigan, who plays guitar, piano, and keyboards, isn't originally from Nashville; she grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and in the late '80s was a member of the New York band Grace Pool. When singer/songwriter Shawn Colvin, who is known for 1990s hits like "Sunny Came Home" and "I Don't Know Why," left Grace Pool to go solo, Radigan was her replacement. After going solo herself and moving to Nashville, Radigan signed withElektra's Asylum label and recorded Pawnbroker's Daughter in 1995. Radigan ended up signing with Vanguard in 1999, and her next solo album, Radigan, was released in 2000. ~ Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
