Juan Carlos Rodriguez, Marcos Yaroide

Biography

Tercer Cielo is a contemporary Christian music (CCM) duo whose Latin pop style proved popular enough to cross over into the mainstream. Founded in 2000 by two friends of Dominican heritage, Juan Carlos Rodriguez and Marcos Yaroide, the duo released three full-length albums -- En Ti (2000), Tercer Cielo (2003), and Ahora Tengo Mas (2005) -- before Yaroide split for a solo career in 2006. In the absence of Yaroide, Rodriguez chose to carry on with Tercer Cielo, recruiting the talents of his wife, Evelyn Herrera, who is of Mexican heritage. The husband-and-wife duo made its full-length recording debut with Llueve (2007). A year later they released the follow-up album Hollywood (2008) and scored their first Latin pop crossover hit with "Yo Te Extranare." ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
