Biography

Parisian indie pop provocateur David Sztanke (aka Tahiti Boy) left his studies in France to study music at New York City's esteemed performing arts conservatory Juilliard. It was there that he laid the foundations for his genre-bending retro-pop outfit Tahiti Boy and the Palmtree Family, a constantly rotating collective that dutifully spins psych-tinged '70s melodies into modern-day indie pop confections. Tahiti Boy and the Palmtree Family's debut EP (1973), which features appearances from TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe and Justice's Xavier de Rosnay, was released on Third Side Records in March 2009. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
