Susan Morabito wanted to become a radio DJ until she found out they don't get to play what they want all the time. In 1982, after mixing her own tapes, a nightclub in her native Cleveland, OH, gave her the opportunity to start playing them. Relocated in N.Y.C. in 1987, Susan Morabito began working in a record store before playing gigs in the local club circuit. Her breakthrough came after participating in the Stonewall Gay Games in 1995. Two years later, a record called Black Party delivered her debut, a remix of "Young Hearts" performed by Gloworm. Equinox and Love to Dance followed in 1998 and 1999 respectively. After issuing Ocean Drive: The Mix, Susan Morabito established her own monthly party in N.Y.C. called Secret and a new residency in Miami, FL, simply called Dance. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
