Formed

1997 Los Angeles, CA

Members

Tom Ackerman, James Tweedy, Pedro Benito, Ian Moreno, Edward Nolan Reyes

Biography

Sunday's Best was formed by guitarist Pedro Bonito, drummer Ian Moreno, and vocalist/bassist Edward Reyes. The trio recorded a 7" single and compilation track with recording engineer Tom Ackerman, formerly the guitarist and vocalist of Skiploader; Ackerman wound up accepting an offer to become the group's drummer, and Moreno switched to rhythm guitar. The newly constituted quartet recorded a debut EP, Where Are You Now, in 1999. Their first full-length studio release Poised to Break followed a year later. Sunday's Best went for more of an Americana sound for their second album, The Californian, issued in spring 2002. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
