Starpoint Electric

Artist Info

Biography

Formed in Chapel Hill, NC in the fall of 1997, the members of Starpoint Electric had each hailed from indie rock bands with very different sounds. The result of the combination of guitarist/vocalist Ted Boyer, bassist/vocalist Clay Boyer, guitarist Steve Galloway and drummer Cameron Weeks, however, couldn't be simpler. With a straight-ahead style that echoes the energy of the blues-rock bands of the late '60s like the Rolling Stones, Starpoint Electric gets its message across without dipping into noise or alternative weirdness. One of the only successful bands from Chapel Hill that doesn't dabble in folk or experimental music, Starpoint Electric has showed its stuff on a 7" single, a split EP and its first full-length release in 1999 from Plastique Recording Company, Bad Directions. ~ Stacia Proefrock, All Music Guide
