Coming together from a variety of bands like the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spectrum, and Imaginary Friends, Smallstone bandmembers James Ambrose, Rick Maymi, Jeff Davies, and Mara Keagle built up a cult following in Los Angeles and San Francisco by playing countless shows with bands like Beachwood Sparks, as well as headlining their own.
