Comprised of singer/bassist Joe Kirkland, guitarist Chris Nagarah, and drummer Courtney Cahill (all three members have been friends since first grade), Small Craft Sighting specializes in pop-punk, but it's not the type of bubblegum, MTV-approved alt-rock that's been glutting the airwaves since the late '90s. The band is more akin to such groundbreaking acts as Hüsker Dü. The band has thus far issued a single recording on its own, the 2001 four-song EP Lyndon, which shows that Small Craft Sighting can crank out anthemic singalong rock songs with the best of them. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
