Biography

Initially comprised of guitarist and lead vocalist Paolo Bonfanti, guitarist Mauro Pagani, keyboardist and vocalist Vittorio de Scalzi (from the New Trolls), bassist Reinhold Kohl, and drummer and vocalist Franz di Cioccio (from PFM), Slow Feet -- a play on Eric Clapton's nickname, Slow Hand -- began when the five veteran musicians, all of whom knew or knew of each other in various capacities, met for the first time and discovered their shared passion for the blues. They soon began playing together, and although Pagani had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts, the band found a replacement in PFM violinist, guitarist, and keyboardist Lucio Fabbri. With a live show that consisted of covers of both well-known classic rock songs from the likes of the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Procol Harum and from blues artists like Junior Wells, Tommy Castro, and Taj Mahal, as well as a number of original pieces that paid tribute to their friend Fabrizio de André, Slow Feet began building a following in Genova, from or near from which they all came. The group released their debut album, a collection of blues-rock and rock covers called Elephant Memory, in late 2007. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
