The Chicago-based adult contemporary rock band Signing Einstein focuses on development of intricate and thought provocative music. In their songs, one can find reflections of influences from major groups such as Berlin and Pink Floyd. Their influences don't stop with these groups, they find creative influences in blues, dance, and reggae music from multiple artists and bands, as well. The year 1999 found Joe Nuccio and Vince Varco teamed up after a 12-year collaborative hiatus. They were determined to dedicate themselves to developing music not limited by current musical trends or hindered by the limitations of live performance. Nuccio has traveled from Anchorage to Los Angeles playing his bass guitar in many ensembles. Some have likened his bass guitar technique to Roger Waters and Geddy Lee. He plays with enough bottom end to shake the ground, matched with a groove that makes one want to dance the night away. Varco is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist who has been a fixture on the Chicago music scene since the 1980s. He finds himself contributing classically inspired arrangements to signing einstein's compositions, along with swirling walls of sound. His subtle use of color lends the music a voice which will not soon be forgotten. Gina Gonzalez rounds out the band as the lead vocalist. After Varco and Nuccio originally abandoned their search for a male vocalist for the group, they found that Gina Gonzalez brought an interesting twist to the demos she recorded for the audition. Although compared to Bonnie Raitt and Sarah McLachlan, Gonzalez has a unique style and voice guaranteed to move the audience.
