Puerto Rican actor and singer Sergio Blass was getting involved in the music scene while participating in bands such as Los Chicos, Menudo, and Amnezzya. Producer Angelo Medina convinced him to settle down in Mexico, where the artist signed up to PolyGram, starting his solo career with the release of the album Sergio in 1994. A song called "Siempre Te Amaré," based on the Police's "Every Breath You Take," became Blass' first hit. The following year, the artist played a main role in a popular soap opera called Agujetas De Color De Rosa. In 1996, Sergio Blass co-produced Sueño Salvaje, which included a special cover of Peggy Lee's "Fever" and a romantic ballad called "Amiga Tú," inspired by Blass' former girlfriend. Both songs became hits soon after. In 1998, Ayúdame a Ser Tuyo was released. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
