Pop/rock foursome Sarona was formed in Valencia, Spain, in 1997. A year later, they issued their first demo, recording a second one in 1999 that featured "Ya Sabes Lo Que Pienso" and "Hasta Luego," among other original songs. After winning a local contest called Polirock, the band became one of the finalists at Valencia's festival. Sarona, whose name is based on the Knack's "My Sharona," recorded a version of U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)" for a local compilation, which was released in 2001. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
