Scaling a particular vision of alternative pop style by directing sole impressions of artful rock, Said Sadly first began as a solo enterprise of guitarist and songwriter Joe DiBiase. DiBiase, who in the beginning of the '90s was involved with other groups in his hometown of Lehigh Valley, PA, soon found out that his musical creations lacked a distinct outfit. It was in 1995 that he met vocalist Mim DiBiase and discovered she had the voice he longingly searched for. Eric Shirk (bass) joined the duo in 1999, and it was then that Said Sadly formally founded. Leaping through several difficulties mostly due to their particular sound mark, the trio managed to secure several live concerts during the following months, and in the beginning of 2000, they recorded what turned out to be their first demo recording. A few months later, Said Sadly edited their first album, The Past Is Tragedy. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, All Music Guide
