Biography

With roots in both Lansing and Chicago, the East Lansing, MI, alt-rock quintet Rosetta draws upon classic British influences from psychedelia to glam rock, particularly the Beatles, Pink Floyd, T. Rex, and David Bowie. Formed during the mid-'90s, the core of the band consists of guitarist/vocalist Andy Leroy, bassist Jeremy Whitwam, and drummer Jesse Draper, with second guitarist Chris Muffett and keyboardist Matt Adamczyk coming on board later. After the band recorded its first full-length album, Eternity, the indie label Rexrode released the track "Ansurilikov" as a single in spring 2001. Later that year, the band was selected to participate in the Coke-sponsored New Music Awards contest for promising unsigned bands. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
