Formed in 1999 by Vaux member Adam Tymn, Ride the Boogie grew to include other members over the next few years, each of whom contributed songs and song ideas to the project until an album was finally completed in 2007. Rounding out the membership of this melodic, harmonious grouping was former Places to Park member Glen Pinson, and ex-Arkham members Kevin Burwick and Billy Pena. The band released their self-titled debut on Longhair Illuminati Records -- first digitally, and then in "hard" copy form -- in 2008. Making it more difficult for Ride the Boogie was the members' insistence on living in a number of different locations, convening in various cities based on bookings. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
