Formed in Los Angeles by two longtime friends from southeastern Texas, Restaurant (sometimes spelled Restavrant) was a garage punk outfit that stole influence and instrumentation from wherever they could get it. Signed to the Narnak label (home of Lee "Scratch" Perry and the Fall), Restaurant released their debut album, Returns to the Tomb of Guiliano Medidici, in the fall of 2008. To build up a healthy bit of excitement for the album's coming out party, Restaurant released a series of 7" EPs at the start of 2008. Starting in January, the pair released four of these little platters (The Bath of Caracus, The Blue Dress Shop, Civil War Artifacts Store, and The Museum of Clipboards), one per month, until April. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
