Instead of getting their start on the California coast like their musical forefathers in blink-182, or in Canada like sound-alikes Simple Plan and Sum 41, Red Car War formed in Dallas, TX. They quickly became darlings of the emo-pop community, especially among teen girls who gravitated toward the band's charisma, boyish good looks, and swoopy scene hair -- "Josh is completely adorkable and Evan is absolutely gorgeous" is one of the many comments proclaiming the band's hotness on its MySpace page. Evan Lester (main vocals/guitar), Josh Cutlip (drums), and Davey Hoogerwerf (backing vocals/bass) started the group; guitarist Garett Bouline was then added after the band had begun to establish itself on the scene. With the help of diligent nationwide street teams promoting RCW and spots on the TV show Grey's Anatomy, the young musicians got their ultimate break when they secured a slot on the Vans Warped Tour in 2007. Two EPs followed: Red Car Wire in 2007 and the energetic Let's Never Get Older in October 2008. ~ Jason LymangroverMySpace page.
