Rayito

Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Rayito seems to have been bred for musical excellence. Steered by his father, also a guitarist, Rayito gave his first public concert at the young age of four. In the next seven years, the budding prodigy won the prestigious international music contest Bravo Bravissimo, recorded his first solo flamenco record, and became the youngest composer to be inducted into the Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE). At age 14, Rayito and family relocated from their native Madrid to the Latin music metropolis of Miami, FL. He enrolled in the New World School of the Arts, a magnet school program for the performing arts, affording him opportunities not only to develop his instrumental skill, but to be exposed to a wide variety of influences. The fertile artistic ground proved fruitful, as his list of collaborators grew in number and in prestige. Luciano Pavarotti, Ricky Martin, David Bisbal, and Julio Iglesias share either stage or writing credits with Rayito. His compositions have earned him three Latin Grammy nominations to date. On September 26, 2006, music fans were treated to the release of Rayito's first Latin pop album, released by SouthBeat Records. His first single, "Me Falta," has charted in the Top 50 in U.S., Latin, and tropical categories.
