The son of a local traditional musician, Spanish contemporary flamenco guitarist Raimundo Amador started playing live in Sevilla's streets under the name of Sargento Platillo at the age of 13. Soon, he began participating in a project called Los Gitanillos, forming Veneno in 1977, who recorded a self-titled album that was released by CBS. After teaming up with his brother, Rafael Amador, a new flamenco band called Pata Negra was born, issuing four albums. When Raimundo Amador decided to start a solo career, he sent a demo to B.B. King, who invited him to New York. The two were playing songs together such as "Bolleré" and "Ay Morena" soon after. In 1995, the talented guitarist formed Gerundina, recording En la Esquina de Las Vegas in 1997 and Noches de Flamenco in 1998. Two years later, Universal released Un Okupa En Tu Corazón. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
