Biography

Born in Honolulu, HI, but raised in the suburbs of Detroit, singer/songwriter Priscilla Ederle found her musical calling at an early age. The baby sister of four older brothers, Ederle found the red 1962-1966 and blue 1967-1970 Beatles retrospectives when she was just eight years old. Later, she'd learn that they weren't exactly real Beatles albums, but they were a nice start for Ederle. She received a Casio keyboard as a gift from her father; she made up her own compositions, and by her teens, Ederle was taking guitar and singing lessons. She first burst on to the indie rock scene in the mid-nineties when she self-released her debut album, Last Will & Testament. By the new millennium, Ederle packed her bags and left Detroit for the beautiful San Francisco Bay. She was determined to find her musical niche. It had been nearly eight years before she made another record, but the delay was a positive time for Ederle. She wasn't looking to be a 'star.' She wanted to write quality songs for herself. In early 2001, she befriended Fojimoto's Marwan Kanafani to make another record. The end result was the melodic, sophisticated indie-pop sounds of The Diamond Fields, which appeared in mid-2002. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
