Biography

Hardcore punk rockers Over My Dead Body formed in early 2000 after the demise of former bands like Unbroken, and instantly vocalist Daniel Sant, guitarist Aaron Cooley, bassist Rob Moran, drummer Tommy Anthony, and guitarist Scott Lopian became a solid straight-edge fivesome playing shows in and around their native SoCal. They issued several split 7" throughout 2000, and a debut EP, No Runners, was released in early 2001 via Indecision Records. Their first full-length, Rusty Medals and Broken Badges, appeared at the very end of the year. Over My Dead Body parted ways with Lopian following the record's release; ex-Built to Last guitarist Dave Kennedy briefly filled in before his other band (Boxcar Racer) took priority, and longtime roadie/merch guy Mike Arney stepped up to take over the spot. In 2002, a split single with Death Threat led to a co-headlining club tour that summer. Coming home after tour, Moran stepped down due to other commitments and fan-turned-bassist Adam Meehan climbed aboard. Work on their sophomore effort followed with producer Paul Miner, and the guys toured with his band, Death by Stereo, after the resulting Sink or Swim's summer 2003 release. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
