The collaboration called Nurse & Soldier feature Oneida's Bobby Matador and his longtime love, Erica Fletcher (aka Rockie). Before the era of Oneida, the initial noise rock rumblings of Nurse & Soldier came together in the late '90s out of the ashes of the couple's previous group, Karaoke Hustler. A six-song EP for Trifectaa Records quickly came and went in spring 1999; two years later, Nurse & Soldier issued the 16-song full-length Ancient History before disappearing into indie rock obscurity. During this time, Matador and Fletcher got married and had a family, but Matador continued recording and performing with Oneida while Fletcher finished graduate school. It would be several years (and a move from Brooklyn to Boston in 2004) before Nurse & Soldier would resume making their mysterious psych pop. Their long-awaited second album, Marginalia, was issued on Oneida's own Brah Records (via Jagjaguwar) in January 2007.
